KWINANA

Kwinana is located 35 kilometres south west of Perth CBD, approximately 25 kilometres south of Fremantle and occupies 120.1 square kilometres with Western Australia’s principal industrial area development representing a unique blend of inter-related heavy and support industries and infrastructure.

Kwinana is a community with large tracts of natural bushland and open space and proximity to both metropolitan Perth and the coast, and its semi rural areas all combine to provide an unsurpassed environment in which to live and work. Kwinana has a current population of approximately 26,000 people, which is forecast to grow significantly over the next five to ten years.

Kwinana has a rapidly developing diverse economic base, centred on heavy industry, including processing, fabrication, light industry and a wide variety of other commercial activity. Kwinana is experiencing rapid growth, particularly through residential development, transport infrastructure growth, including the new Southern Metropolitan Railway and significant industrial development, including the Hope Valley/Wattleup development that will provide 900 hectares of additional industrial land and a projected increase of 36,000 jobs.

Community infrastructure and further urban development will increase Kwinana’s capacity to attract investment to the region, with education alone seeing an injection of $45 million over the next 3 years through the redevelopment of the Kwinana Senior High School and the construction of a purpose built TAFE Automotive Skills Centre of Excellence.

ROCKINGHAM

Rockingham is located 39 kilometres south west of Perth CBD, approximately 30 kms south of Fremantle and occupies 267 square kilometres with 34 kms of coastline including three recently awarded Best Beaches.

Offering a diverse lifestyle of coastal, urban and rural choices the population is regarded among the youngest in Australia at a median age of 31 years, with the average household size of 2.7. More than 65% of the population were born in Australia with the United Kingdom being the predominate birthplace overseas.

Rockingham has experienced strong population growth doubling in size in the last 14 years (trebling in the past 20 years), and is poised for an increase of almost 60% in the next 15 years.

The area has a diverse economic base centred around defence, manufacturing, construction, property, horticulture, viticulture, aquaculture, fishing, retail, light industry, tourism and commerce and is served with all tertiary educational institutions dominated by Murdoch University and Challenger TAFE.
